We showcase the best in Indian Folk Art paintings sourced directly from rural Artists in India. Our initial focus is on the Madhubani style which comes from the villages around the area of Madhubani and Mithilia in the state of Bihar.
The aims of Indian textures are to:
- Open up Indian Folk Art to an ever widening audience
- Support and encourage the rural Artists to keep this art form alive and vibrant
- Utilise the best quality formats and media to bring out new qualities in this work
Absolutely crucial to these aims are our close direct links with Artists, most of who live and work in villages. The Folk Art of India is a passion for us, not just a business, and so we pride ourselves on the financial support our work provides directly to the artist helping keep this traditional art form alive and healthy.
We also understand that critical to our success is combination of the intrinsic beauty of the art work together with the absolute best quality of our materials to produce something truly unique and inspirational.
Originals work of Art
All our displayed paintings are available as Original pieces of art via a commission to the artist. These will be made on handmade paper that’s treated with cow dung to provide a base and natural colours all made from vegetable dyes, black soot, carnation pollen and red clay. Each painting can take between 3 to 6 weeks to paint.
Different Print Formats
We also exclusively offer these paintings as high quality Prints on the finest of Canvases, Art Paper and high-tech Perspex. All the original pictures are captured digitally using state of the art equipment and then enhanced sympathetically and individually to match the format it’s being printed on. This results in the picture bringing out the best attributes of the medium on which it’s printed. The quality of the printed medium is also the best in the market.
